Making the brewery a backdrop of the guest experience, the first ever franchise of American brewing legend Lemp Brewing Co. aims to represent its 173-year legacy in a new context.
Two distinct zones define the space. The circular restaurant, with its high ceiling and the brewery as a backdrop, and the Grid—a lounge that turns into a dance floor at night. Their placement responds to the natural light the space receives, with the restaurant getting light from the north sun, while the bar-lounge sits in its darker parts.
Both spaces intersect at the bar—an installation made using old beer bottles. It pays tongue-in-cheek homage to bottled beer which risks become obsolete with the coming of Lemp's fresh beer on tap.
The use of these old bottles, paper tubes, stained glass and chain mail to create installations within the space contrasts sharply with the luxurious textures of the shell clad with stained fire-brick, quilted leather and sheer fabric curtains.
