Scissors, laid into motifs and patterns, create a lace-like surface wrapped on the walls and ceiling to form an enclosure. To source the right kind of scissors for the lattice, the team sifted through thousands, made from iron to alloys; rejecting several as they lacked the structural strength required for the welded panels. The entire metal mesh and building shell were then painted an identical white for a monochromatic palette. The grey sandstone floor, textured using shot blasting and brushing techniques, rises and folds to shape two blocks and accentuates it.
